Who we are

Chedders is an independent app studio that develops and operates Tidy Blocks and Octopus Usage Insights. In this policy, "we", "our", and "us" refer to Chedders.

This policy explains how data is handled by our apps and when you contact us for support.

Apps covered by this policy

• Tidy Blocks, a block puzzle game for iPhone.
• Octopus Usage Insights, an app for Mac and iPad that helps Octopus Energy customers understand their energy usage.

Tidy Blocks

Tidy Blocks does not require a Chedders account and we do not operate a server that receives your gameplay progress, puzzle board state, or high-score data.

Game progress, settings, and similar gameplay information may be stored locally on your device so the app can function and remember your progress.

We do not collect location data, contacts, payment details, advertising identifiers, or personal analytics data through Tidy Blocks.

Octopus Usage Insights

Octopus Usage Insights uses the Octopus Energy API key you provide within the app to retrieve your Octopus Energy usage data from the official Octopus Energy API.

Within the app, your usage data is processed to provide:

• Historical energy consumption trends and comparisons.
• Summaries of high and low usage periods and export offsets.
• Forecasts and insights for Octopus Energy smart tariffs.

Energy usage data is processed locally on your device. The app does not upload or sync your energy usage data to Chedders servers. Your Octopus API key is stored securely in the Apple Keychain on your device.

The app communicates with the Octopus Energy API only to retrieve your usage information using the credentials you supply.

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use support correspondence solely to respond to your enquiry and improve our apps.

You may request deletion of support emails or correspondence by contacting us at [email protected].

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share personal data with third-party advertisers.

Octopus Usage Insights communicates with the Octopus Energy API as described above. Tidy Blocks does not send gameplay data to Chedders servers.

Your choices and controls

Tidy Blocks

You can remove locally stored game data by deleting the app from your device, subject to the standard behaviour of iOS and any device backups you control.

Octopus Usage Insights

You can revoke the app's access to your Octopus Energy account at any time by removing the API key from the app or regenerating your key via the Octopus Energy dashboard.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our apps or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users within the relevant app or on this website.
